Elementary School
In grades 1–5, Wilson Hall provides a strong and joyful foundation for learning. Students build essential skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, language arts, grammar, and mathematics, while social studies and science help broaden their understanding of the world around them. Traditional teaching methods remain central to the elementary experience, with textbooks, pencil-and-paper work, classroom discussion, hands-on activities, and teacher-led instruction forming the foundation of daily learning. Technology is used thoughtfully as a support when it enhances instruction.
Elementary students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate with classmates, communicate clearly through writing and speaking, and express their creativity through projects and hands-on activities. Each week, students also visit the art studio, library, music studio, gymnasium, and STEAM Lab for classes taught by specialized teachers, making the elementary experience both well-rounded and engaging.
Classes in grades 1–4 are self-contained, while fifth grade students benefit from three teachers who specialize in particular academic areas, helping prepare them for the transition to middle school. Elementary students learn in their own building and enjoy a playground designed for their age group. With a low teacher-to-student ratio, students receive individual attention in a positive, encouraging environment where they are known, supported, and challenged.
The school day for grades 1–5 is from 8:10 AM until 2:10 PM.
Wilson Hall faculty thoughtfully support student learning and provide appropriate classroom accommodations when possible. However, the school does not offer extraordinary academic programs for students with special needs.
