Music, laughter, and enthusiastic performances had the crowd clapping and cheering as the senior football players traded their helmets for microphones during a lively Karaoke Pep Rally celebrating Senior Night for the football players and cheerleaders. With very little rehearsal but plenty of enthusiasm, three groups entertained the audience with performances of “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys, “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift, and “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5. A panel of distinguished judges scored each performance, and while there may have been a few off-key notes, the boys more than made up for them with energy and showmanship. The Jackson 5 group, featuring Miller Jones, Braelen Lewis, Wyatt Meyers, and Reese Wilson, took top honors, receiving miniature trophies and bags of candy. Organized by the varsity cheerleaders under the leadership of Captain Anne McCrea Williams and Co-Captains Peyton Naylor and Livie Pedersen, the pep rally combined entertainment and school spirit with a special tribute to the seniors. Mr. Kurt Wilson, an assistant football coach, delivered heartfelt remarks about the senior class, while Abel Ayres, speaking as a fan, and Griffin Jones, representing the players, encouraged their classmates to show their Baron pride. The celebration concluded with the singing of the alma mater and fight song, bringing a memorable Senior Night pep rally to a fitting close.
