Faith, fellowship, and a full house marked the first Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting of the year as nearly 75 high school students gathered during lunch. Mr. Asa Dinkins, High School Ministry Director at Sumter First Baptist, challenged students to consider the way they view God and the influence others have on their sense of worth. Too often, he shared, we make people big and God small, placing greater value on what others think of us than on what God thinks of us. Asa encouraged students to shift that perspective by seeking God’s approval and validation above the opinions of those around them. Mrs. Molly Simpson Matthews ‘93 is the advisor for the club that meets on alternating Wednesdays during lunch.
