DECA Leaders Build Skills at Conference

Sharpening their leadership skills and bringing new ideas back to campus, members of the leadership team of Wilson Hall’s chapter of DECA spent the day at the South Carolina DECA Fall Leadership Conference in Columbia. Chapter officers and emerging leaders participated in workshops focused on leadership, teamwork, communication, professionalism, pitching, and social media. Students returned with valuable lessons about the importance of confidence, initiative, effective communication, teamwork, and making a positive impression on others. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business-related fields through competitions, leadership activities, and real-world projects. Advised by Mrs. Ashley Cook and Mrs. Alex Judson, the Wilson Hall chapter will use ideas from the conference to strengthen its program throughout the year.
