The enduring connection Wilson Hall alumni have with their school was especially meaningful during the Class of ’81 reunion, when the H.L. Turner Engineering Wing was dedicated in Founders Chapel. Surrounded by classmates, former faculty members, and family, Hal Turner ’81 reflected on the important role Wilson Hall played in his life and shared his hope that his gift would open doors for generations of students to come. The wing includes two classrooms that house the engineering and robotics labs, complete with 35 3D printers. Classmate Mike Williams, a nationally renowned artist, was also recognized for his gift of a painting displayed in the Arts Building, which the class viewed during a campus tour led by Mr. Brent Kaneft, Head of School. After the presentation and tour, classmates gathered in the Bynum Rooftop Garden to watch the Homecoming football game and reconnect with one another. Coordinated by Mrs. Martha Jo Johnson, Director of Development, and Mrs. Leigh McLaurin, Director of Alumni Relations, the event was a meaningful reminder that Wilson Hall’s alumni continue to strengthen the school they love while helping shape the experience of those who follow them.
