Biology Bubbles: Hands-On Learning Outdoors

Taking science beyond the classroom, students in Mrs. Jessica Duke’s biology class headed outdoors to explore the fascinating properties of cell membranes through a hands-on experiment using soap bubbles. Students investigated how membranes demonstrate flexibility, repair themselves, and regulate the movement of materials through selective protein channels. By turning abstract biological concepts into a fun, interactive experiment, students gained a deeper understanding of how cell membranes function. The activity highlighted the value of hands-on learning in making scientific concepts both accessible and memorable.
